05/03/22 1st YAG Model Railway Show

Our first Model Railway Show held on 5th March at St. Lawrence's Church Hall, York, included Hornby O gauge and Dublo layouts, plus other displays. This raised a total of £309.15 for group funds, being a good result for our first attempt. The support of our members and friends on both the Friday evening and Saturday was much appreciated.

It was an excellent day and the feedback received from attendees and exhibitors was all positive. Most importantly in these difficult times, the day did exactly what it should have done and put a smile on many peoples faces. The range of exhibits and the lovely food made for a special day.

Photos: We were honoured that the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress joined us and showed great interest. Also, a photo of Mrs Rene Braithwaite (97) who recently received the British Empire Medal for 70 years service to the local community. We have made Rene an Honorary Life Member of YAG and she attends all our meetings, helping with the catering, a great inspiration to us all.
